In mid July, my husband asked me if I wanted to go down east on a holiday. I had been away at the end of June by myself at a wonderful retreat in Kamloops, BC and did not expect another trip so soon. The following week we were off to Moncton where we stayed the first night downtown. They have a wonderful new restaurant that serves a lot of Lobster and the dinner was superb. The next morning we went to Magnetic Hill. Going down the hill I held my pendulum still and it began to circle clockwise by itself very quickly. At the bottom of the hill when we changed into the opposite lane as directed, the pendulum immediately and completely stopped and just hung there. My husband put the car in neutral as directed and we began to roll backwards up the hill and my pendulum began to circle counter clockwise - again very strongly and quickly until we reached the top of the hill. Then it stopped quickly. We were also impressed how quickly we went backwards - over 30 km and my husband wanted to brake. I don't know what it means when the pendulum did what it did but it was very interesting.
Perhaps one of you attending will have the answers.
We drove across the famous Confederation Bridge and lunched at a little 50's diner in Summerside - really good food. We had to have some PEI fries. We drove up to the North Shore tip and had one beer to salute the tip of PEI and drove back down the other side and stayed in Summerside. The fields of potatoes growing are really impressive.
The next day we headed out and landed at the birthplace of Lucy Maud Montgomery and then Anne of Green Gables. My favourite book as a child. We continued on and reached the East tip and I climbed the lighthouse. We got a little certificate that said we had gone "Tip to Tip" We spent a little time in Charlottetown and drove the streets with the older houses down near the wharf. Then we took the ferry across to Nova Scotia and stayed in New Glasgow. The next morning I phone Charles Hubbard and got directions to his farm and spent a couple of hours talking to Charles and seeing his gardens and animals.
We didn't drive the highway but stayed on the smaller roads that outline NS and follow the coast just enjoying the scenery and small villages. We had wonderful lunches and dinners in out of the way places eating mussels and scallops and haddock (not breaded) and Atlantic salmon. It was all delicious.
We saw the Hank Snow museum in Liverpool and it is one of the most complete and interesting museums I have been in. We thoroughly enjoyed it. We also had one of the best dinners of the holiday in a little Inn that had an outdoor patio and it took us a couple of hours to lazily enjoy appetizer to dessert and everything in between.
Peggy's Cove was new to my husband but I had been there before. I could live there. I am mesmerized by the waves and feel like a kid jumping from rock to rock. I spent two hours there and did the exercizes one of our speakers will be teaching you. The energy surged through me and my feet were prickly with energy. I held my pendulum over big crevices. The ones with water in it or stones and pieces of rocks in them had no reaction from the pendulum. The crevices that were clear and you couldn't see anything down there made my pendulum spin rapidly. I believe the crevice creates a vortex.
We walked the wharf in Halifax and drove the streets looking at the wonderful old buildings that have such character and have been so well taken care of. Such a lovely clean city. We both enjoyed our pleasant and relaxed vacation escaping the unbearable heat wave and drought Ontario was having. You are all so lucky to live in such beautiful provinces as the Maritimes. Next trip will be the Cabot Trail we didn't have time to see and ferry to Newfoundland.
I am excited to come back again in September.
